Is Lockdown and Curfew same ?
No. Although both serve almost same purpose they are not exactly same. Lockdown is something which is not constitutional . There is no legal connection of lockdown to constituion. Lockdown is just like ancient times of king where everyone listen when the king asked everyone to stay linside with no question asked. Same is not true for curfew. Curfew is imposed under section 144 of Indian constitution.During the curfew people are instructed to stay indoors for a particular period of time. The government puts a complete restriction on traffic as well. Usually, prohibitory orders state that people cannot gather in a group of more than five. Markets, schools, colleges and offices remain closed under the curfew and only essential services are allowed to run on prior notice.
Will this 21 day lockdown free India from Corona virus ?
As India will be entering stage 3 or community transmission phase of Corona outbreak any time , the government of India has opt for the most severe step taken anywhere in the war against the coronavirus. This will the last fair chance we get to restrict its spreading.
The concept here is that in this hugely populated subcontinent with staggering population density it is nearly impossible to maintain social distance without taking such large scale measures. The literacy rate and manipulative nature of some people even make the situation worse. The newly discovered corona virus can spread from people to people by contact , respiratory droplets, mucus or even from contaminated non living objects. This lockdown is expected to reduce these kind of transmission to avoid a uncontrollable circumstances like Italy or other European nations.
This 21 day lockdown will not make India corona free. Nobody even claim it will put an end to new corona infection case. In fact WHO addressed India saying that lockdown is not enough to curb the spread of COVID-19. But it will certainly buy us some more time to prepare for it, Some more time to flatten the infection rate curve.

People must understand that the lock down is for our own safety. The situation where we are heading is not something we are prepared for . Our country will not able to handle it properly with our limited resources, congested population, and outdated medical infrastructure . Government cannot stop the spreading alone if we do not collaborate. We should be in home and strictly following the measures we are asked to.
